
Porridge With Fruity Compote

For the compote:
1 medium apple
1 pear
3 large dates
Large handful of mixed dried fruit
1 orange
1 pinch of ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch of nutmeg
2 cloves
For the porridge:
55g porridge oats
250ml full fat milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
How to make
Step 1
Peel, core and chop the apple and pear into bite sized pieces, dice the dates into raisin sized pieces, zest and juice the orange and finely grate the nutmeg.
Step 2
Stick the cloves into a piece of orange peel to prevent them from getting lost in the mixture, then add all compote ingredients to a pan and cook until the fruits are tender. Remove the roange peel and cloves.
Step 3
For the porridge, combine the oats, milk vanilla extract in a pan and stir over a medium heat until thick
Step 4
Purée or mash the porridge and compote to the right texture for you little one, then serve the porridge with the warm winter fruits spooned on top
